Twinkle = Augmented reality + Pico projector

Augmented reality at last out of a screen!
Demonstrations and applications of AR became redondant and  boring sometime. But this prototype sounds good.
You no longer need to look through a virtual window (an iPhone screen for example) but you video project the layer of augmented reality on the environnement surrounding you. And as says the guys who developed it (from Tokyo University and Keio University), the final aim is to have that technology on a mobile phone device. A lot of design ideas are already  born in my head :D

That's sad! Digital books copying PopupBooks

I bilieve in interactive books
On experimental format : http://www.volumique.com/

And I believe in paper books
as traditional nice designed books : Penguin & Pelican editions on flickR – Pelican covers archives (a longer article on the Penguin Edition example)

But Digital books copying Popup Books… (on an iPad) I find that dramatically sad!
